📖 About the Project

“I go out every day, take more than 10 trips, but still feel like I’m not seeing the money.”
— A real concern from my friend, a full-time Bolt driver in Lagos, Nigeria.

This statement sparked the idea behind this project.

🧩 The Problem

Many Bolt drivers, like my friend, work long hours and complete several trips daily. However, they often struggle to track where their money goes. Expenses such as fuel, food, mobile data, and car maintenance add up silently — and because these costs are scattered and untracked, drivers frequently feel like their efforts aren't paying off.

There was no simple tool available for drivers to:

• Log their expenses in real-time
• Compare income vs expenses
• Gain insight into their financial patterns

This gap often leads to frustration, confusion, and poor money management.

💡 The Solution

I built a Driver Expense Tracker Dashboard — a simple, mobile-friendly web application tailored for Bolt drivers. It allows them to:

• 💰 Record trip earnings and all daily expenses (fuel, food, repairs, etc.)
• 📊 View charts that show income vs expenses
• 🗂 Categorize and break down expenses
• 📅 Track daily, weekly, and monthly performance
• 🧠 Gain insight into their financial behavior to make better decisions

🎯 Goal

This project aims to give Bolt drivers more financial visibility and control over their work. With clear data, they can:

• See where their money is going
• Spot unnecessary expenses
• Plan for low-income days or major car repairs
• Ultimately feel more in control of their finances and time

This application combines a clean UI built with Bolt AI and a custom backend using Node.js and PostgreSQL. It’s designed to be fast, simple, and useful for drivers — even those with no tech background.

It’s more than just a dashboard — it’s a step toward helping drivers take full ownership of their hustle.
