Inspiration

As a research and development member of Douyin's early core recommendation system architecture, I have completely experienced the stage of Douyin short video from 0 to 1, and deeply felt the huge network effect generated by music video combined with AI technology. The creator and content consumer ecosystem is a hyper-centralized network of content creators using recommendation algorithms to regulate and distribute feed video at Douyin. But it has big flaws, Creators have no ownership of their digital assets, nor the right to decide the content distribution strategy, no ownership of the Douyin platform, no voting rights for major product improvements, and can only enjoy very little ecological revenue. According to statistics, less than 1% of creators in the Douyin ecosystem have positive ROI. The data of content consumers is not owned by the users at all. These have become constraints that restrict the economic development of creators. Ecological co-builders need a self-built, autonomous, and self-owned content ecosystem.

The entire web3 world lacks an application with a large user base that can truly link web2 users and web3 protocols. Stepn made a good demonstration, advocating a sporty, fashionable and healthy lifestyle through the x2earn model. Ubeat, an application that combines video creator ecology, healthy lifestyle and SocialFi attributes, will open a new way to the web3 world door.

What it does

Ubeat takes pan-somatosensory games as a video type, creators can participate in the creation of open-ended ecological template video creation, enriching the diversity of content, creators earn revenue through template NFT sales revenue share, players follow template videos to dance, exercise, and play somatosensory games. The content creation process of player gasification is a kind of mining behavior. After the ugc content is mint, it can be consumed by audience in the content community. In this way, the entire content creator economy forms an ecological closed loop.

Challenges we ran into

The challenge we face is how to avoid the differentiated competition in the main battlefield of tiktok in today's super centralized content ecology of tiktok. Ubeat is positioned as a video game platform, tiktok+roblox of web3, Ubeat's focus is on the creation side, and tiktok's focus is on the consumption side. This is an important difference. Ubeat will use TikTok as a distribution channel for ugc content.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As a newbie to Evmos, we just spent one day to change our contract chain from Ethereum to Evmos. We implement a set of skeleton point detection algorithms from scratch.

What we learned

The experience of developing on Evmos is very friendly. Evmos is high throughput and fast transaction. The most important is its EVM compatibility, we can reuse our old solidity code. Overall, it's a wonderful experience.

What's next for Ubeat

Ubeat wants to be the application of the largest content creator economy on Evmos. The next we will follow our roadmap to optimize our products continuously!
