No one likes crowds. No one likes to wait. Be it parking, food lines or study spaces, stay informed of the crowd with UB Jaldi, with real time updates on parking spaces and heat maps of study and food places, take the best decision to suit your needs. We use our computers for everything, why not this? Live life faster, with UB Jaldi

We’ve waited in lines before, and we don’t like it. With the fear of the coronavirus still strong, it is always advisable to know what areas are crowded and what aren’t. Also, sometimes students just want a moment of peace and quiet outside of their dorms, and going to the library to study only to find it just as busy as the dorm can be disheartening at least. Parking is another story altogether. Getting an average parking spot is a new battle every day, and in today’s world, we simply think that’s unnecessary.

It allows someone to book a parking spot, and view available spots in real time, as well as heat maps of food spaces and study areas. Students “sign in” to the website using their university email address, which goes through a verification process to avoid fraudulent bookings.

We built it using python, javascript and repl.it, along with HTML and CSS for some front end work. We also used bottle to connect our data to our front end and back end code. We faced difficulties with learning new technologies and working our way through bugs through the night, but the product was really worth it.

We are proud of how much we learned, hackathons are all about learning and growing and the new methods and systems we used for this project, all self taught, are all things we are proud of!
