Inspiration
I have a class from ECHA to basement CCIS in the upcoming Winter semester so Lord knows I need this stopwatch more than y'all do.
What it does
It's a fairly simple Python stopwatch that also provides you with a leaderboard containing your top 5 fastest times whenever you stop using it.
How we built it
We started with working on the skeleton for a stopwatch, which was implementing time and being able to record that time, then we continued with building locations and building the leaderboard for the quickest times, then that became formatting the leaderboard and lastly we just put all those pieces together in the main function.
Challenges we ran into
I think the biggest challenge we ran into was making the leaderboard format correctly and create rankings when there were less than 5 times in the program.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We overcame all our previously mentioned challenges and for that I'm proud of what we have made.
What we learned
This was overall a really good Python refresher for us but we think the most useful thing we ended up learning was about rindex, which was useful for being able to splice our output for our leaderboard.
What's next for U of A Drill Sergeant
More personality for the Drill Sergeant! We wanna make it so that the Drill Sergeant/Stopwatch already knows where you are and we want it to be able to compare itself with other times(Google Maps or other users times)
