Inspiration
I remember the first time I had a class in a computer lab; we started learning to type with a type-racer-type game. When I heard the prompt was education, I wanted to make something similar for my submission.
What it does
Displays a random sentence and tracks the user input to measure the player's ability to quickly and accurately type.
How we built it
I built the entire project as a 2D unity file, which I also learned how to do as I went.
Challenges we ran into
Unity kept breaking and failing to launch, so I lost a lot of time restarting, reinstalling, and fixing it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I built a full game in a program that I had never used in 12 hours.
What we learned
How to work in unity.
What's next for Type Racer
Adding a way to track spelling errors and penalize the player for poor typing accuracy.
