TXMR - The future of cryptocurrencies

Inspiration

Do you know what a bitcoin is? Have you heard of the cryptocurrency boom? Well, the newest currency has been activated!

What it does

You can trade and send TXMR with other people on the Ropsten network. You can also check your balances using the Metamask extension for chrome!

I also wrote the basis and thesis of the project and the game. This will be handy for future implications.

How I built it

I coded the basic structure by following the ERC-20 standard protocol in javascript. I added in all of the necessary methods that allow for the coin to be used on the Ethereum network. Then, I added in additional properties such as the decimal places and the possibility of creating additional TXMR's.

Challenges I ran into

Creating a real cryptocurrency requires validation and creation on the main network. Because of lag times and the current number of transactions pending, I had to switch gears and create my project on the Ropsten network.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

-Successfully creating the newest cryptocurrency on the Ropsten network. -Learning how to code in Javascript

What's next for TXMR

I plan on adding more functions and perhaps add a "living economy" function into the source code. I would add in functions to create cryptocurrency mining, or make TXMR compatible with online markets so it could be freely traded and sold. I also plan on creating a game that would incorporate a cryptocurrency such as TXMR. Using the thesis I wrote as a guideline, I will create future projects of games that use the blockchain.
