Inspiration

Technical writers have to manually create documentation and get it verified with subject matter experts(SMEs). The verification is usually done over web meeting as SMEs might be geographically spread out. This is a time consuming manual process.

What it does

User need to select the base english locale, target locale and the input text. The LLM finds the equivalent terms in the target locale. Technical writers can add the output to their documentation and get it verified from SME at once.

Challenges we ran into

Llms can be unpredictable. Sometimes the output was missing a few characters especially for financial forms. To solve this we fine tuned the prompt providing simple, clear & complete instructions. Form of output was clearly defined.

What we learned

Crafting prompt is an ongoing learning process. It's not alway straightforward.

What's next for Locale Genie

Locale Genie with prompt modification can be extended to localization of education and training materials.
