Inspiration The inspiration for this project came from my love for classic arcade games and the desire to create a fun and engaging multiplayer experience. I wanted to put a twist on the traditional Snake game by adding a competitive element where two players could play against each other on the same screen.
What it does The game allows two players to control their snakes simultaneously on a shared game board. Each player competes to collect food items, which grow their snake's length. The player with the longest snake and highest score wins the game.
How we built it I built the game using HTML5 canvas for rendering graphics and JavaScript for game logic. The game board is divided into a grid, with each cell representing a possible position for the snake or food item. Players control their snakes using the arrow keys, and the game tracks their scores and lengths.
Challenges we ran into One of the main challenges was implementing the multiplayer functionality, especially handling the simultaneous movement of two snakes. Managing the game state and ensuring that each player's actions were correctly reflected on the screen required careful coordination.
Accomplishments that we're proud of I'm proud of successfully implementing the multiplayer feature and creating a visually appealing game environment. The animations and overall design contribute to a fun and immersive gameplay experience.
What we learned Through this project, I gained a deeper understanding of game development principles, including game loop management, collision detection, and user input handling. I also improved my skills in JavaScript and HTML5 canvas programming.
What's next for Track your game In the future, I plan to add more features to enhance the gameplay, such as power-ups, different game modes, and enhanced graphics. I also aim to optimize the game for mobile devices and explore the possibility of adding online multiplayer support.
