Two-Done: A Comprehensive Tool for Enhancing Productivity and Diagnostic Capabilities in Online Education

By Zachary Tenn Yuk and Gianna Thomas

Inspiration

As remote and online education becomes increasingly common, professionals face significant challenges in diagnosing attention disorders in students without in-person interaction. Simultaneously, students struggle with productivity, lacking the necessary tools to optimize their learning experience. These challenges have contributed to a decline in academic performance. Two-Done addresses these issues by offering a comprehensive solution that enhances productivity through evidence-based study methods while providing medical professionals with tools for remote diagnosis.

What it does

  • Timer-Recording System: Two-Done automatically records study sessions based on a built-in Pomodoro-style timer. Users can review their study habits for personal improvement, while educators and medical professionals can use these recordings to identify early signs of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders (ADHD). The video recording feature is intended to supplement healthcare providers with valuable data to prompt initial robust consultations using established diagnostic practices. The recordings also serve as progress logs, helping professionals assess whether prescribed treatments are positively impacting users’ study habits.
  • Task Management and To-Do List: The app includes a dynamic to-do list where users can organize and manage tasks. Users can edit task names, delete them from the list, or mark them as completed. This feature breaks down the workload into manageable chunks, helping users stay organized and focused during their study sessions.

How we built it

  • Framework: Angular
  • Languages: TypeScript, HTML, SCSS
  • UI Components: Angular Standalone Components
  • Styling: SCSS, Flexbox for layout
  • Media Handling: HTML5 Video for recording and background customization
  • Version Control: Git, GitHub

Challenges we ran into

We would like to develop a process for automatic exporting and delivery of recording logs to educators and medical professionals. It would also be beneficial to allow professionals to securely access user data (with consent) that includes behavioral patterns, study durations, and activity logs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Two-Done fills a critical gap in online education and remote healthcare. Many individuals struggle with undiagnosed attention disorders that, if untreated, could escalate into more serious mental health issues like anxiety and depression. By bridging the gap between productivity enhancement and remote diagnosis, Two-Done empowers users to gain insights into their own habits while enabling professionals to provide timely, targeted support.

What we learned

  • Zach: How to use Angular and the role of telehealth in society.
  • Gianna: The process of coding a website and about the use of video detection to aid in diagnosing.

What's next for Two-Done

  • Platform Integrations: Sync with learning management systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, allowing users to track assignments and deadlines directly in the app.
  • Partnerships with Healthcare Institutions: Collaborate to develop advanced machine learning models that enhance diagnostic capabilities and offer therapeutic recommendations.
  • Personalization Features: Offer personalized study plans, customized routines, and habit-tracking based on individual behavior and attention spans.
  • Wellness Support: Provide access to mindfulness exercises, stress management techniques, and virtual support groups for a holistic approach to well-being.
  • User Music Integration: Include user-selected music streams to create a personalized and optimized study environment.

Conclusion

Two-Done is more than just a productivity tool; it’s a comprehensive platform that bridges online education and remote healthcare. By combining proven study methods, advanced data analysis, and telehealth capabilities, we offer a unique solution that empowers both users and professionals. Join the Two-Done community and be part of a platform focused on enhancing productivity and mental health through technology!
