Inspiration

We live in an era of knowledge sharing! Digital content consumption is at its peak! And, demand for quality paid content has never been more!

Now, think of all the quality content creators, like writer who just wrote their new book, or a tutor who just released their new MOOC series, or a streamer who released their new video stream! Where do they broadcast this proud news of their new work? You guessed it right! TWITTER.

What If we could capture all that outbound traffic?

What it does

We believe, we have discovered a _____ feature, that'll take Twitter to a whole new level! Reflecting on the principles of twitter, such as #trust #fun #fast & #starightforward and combining that with the values of its sister company Square! i.e the economic empowerment to the individual!

The goal of TwitterVerse is to capture the essence of rich media content within Twitter!

How do we achieve this?

  • We provide tools for developers, just like our APIs, to create simple and concise versions of their apps to host them as a part of TwitterVerse!
  • This provides a seamless experience to the users to consume the content without having to worry about various apps, their own authentications and privacy issues and most importantly how they manage multiple subscriptions for all that content they love to consume!
  • Integrating these mini apps with the trust on privacy and authenticity of Twitter and security of Square! We believe Twitter would be moving in a new direction of capturing the outbound traffic of content from the app and grant users a fast, fun and staright-forward experience on twitter!

Challenges I ran into

  • Fighting against time and also maintaining the code quality and meticulous design decisions!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • We're very proud of how much time we spent on discussing the problem before diving into quick solutions!
  • We believe we've found a very simple, yet effective way to drive twitter in the right direction.
  • Finally, we absolutely love the prototype we built! We've put a lot of time into all the small quirk of the application design!

What we learned

  • We learnt a lot about the company values not only from twitter, but also from Square.

What's next for Twitter-Verse

  • The biggest challenge for Twitter-Verse would be to provide a seamless developer experience to integrate their apps into twitter-verse.
  • There's lots of engineering challenges that we have to solve to scale twitter-verse to take it the next level!
