Inspiration
We wanted to understand Meta's Hasher Matcher Actioner project by implementing a use case ourselves.
What it does
We connected Meta's HMA API to a Twitter clone so that it automatically moderates content posted on the platform.
How we built it
We onboarded with our Meta project maintainer to get an instance of the HMA API running, and then once we understood how the API functioned, we connected it to a python Twitter Clone.
Challenges we ran into
Dealing with the API was tricky and we had to fully understand the core ideas of the HMA project,
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We got an HMA instance running and we got a content platform to use the HMA API, similar to how a real platform might use it.
What we learned
The ins and outs of the HMA API and how a platform would actually use it.
What's next for Twitter-Clone with Automated Content Moderation
We will on making the HMA API better so that any platform that uses it will have better content moderation.
