TSA wait times
Inspiration
We wanted to make an easy way for millennials to access details about their upcoming flights.
What it does
You tweet at our twitter bot using keywords such as "estimate" and "status" along with basic flight details like flight number, date of departure or airport name and our bot tweets back at you with what you're looking for, ranging from departure gates to TSA wait times.
How we built it
We used a python bot that makes calls to the Twitter and Delta API.
Challenges we ran into
Setting up the Twitter bot and abstraction of extraneous data.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our Twitter bot instantly responds to requests for approximate TSA wait time and also tells you your flight status, departure gate and departure time.
What we learned
It was our first time making a Twitter bot and using the Delta APIs so it was large, but rewarding learning experience.
What's next for tweety mctweetbot
We hope to expand on our bot and include more functionality so it can eventually be used as a complete Delta customer service application.
