Inspiration

I wanted to create something that gets people to interact more in offline situations, we have created a great online community in some spaces, but our real-life communities are slowing disintegrating. So I wanted to build both communities up at the same time.

What it does

Tweet & Meet allows users with common interests to meet up for a "Cafe Conversation" by allowing them to meet and schedule talks with other users of the platform. Right now the target audience is young professionals looking to make business connections in real-life, but we will branch out into other areas of interest

How I built it

I started building the application in Java using Android Studio, however, it is still a work in progress and needs some more development before its market-ready.

Challenges I ran into

The problem I ran into was getting the app to only analyze tweets of users and find a common interest between users. I haven't completely figured it out, but I will be utilizing an AI algorithm to better decipher between users.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud that this is my first project where I am using data analytics to build and platform and to better find patterns in data sets

What I learned

I learned more about Java coding and data API's as this was my project working with them. I hope I can improve upon those skills and better develop this app

What's next for Tweet & Meet

Well the next best thing is to get it off the ground and up and running.
