Inspiration
As fellow travelers and avid movie-goers, we developed an app that gives users the best of both worlds. We listened to what users struggle with the most when planning trips, and sought out a way to ease pain points and deliver a memorable travel experience for them.
What it does
Our product eases traveler frustrations by conveniently bundling multiple activities into one affordable package based on the movie and TV genres that they most enjoy. Users no longer have to shop in multiple sites to find the best price or use precious time to build a trip itinerary. TVentures does that for them.
How we built it
Communication through Discord, collaboration through Figma and Figjam, and testing through Maze.
Challenges we ran into
In the initial planning, we struggled with focusing on the requirements to deliver a minimum viable product within the given timespan.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Since this designathon was a first for all 4 team members, we're most proud of the collaborative nature that we all held even through the ambiguous problem areas. We heavily relied on each other's strengths to build a consistent product and used transparent communication to remain on the same page.
What we learned
We all learned how to work in a virtual team environment, which isn't as easy as it seems. Strong teamwork and collaboration came into play as we strategized who would work on what during the 2-day event.
What's next for TVentures
We've already made plans as a team to use the feedback gathered during our usability tests to further iterate on elements that were more time-intensive. We have big plans for TVentures, such as expanding to offer restaurant or broadway experiences in travel packages.
