Inspiration

Scope creep rarely starts with a huge change.

It often starts with a simple message:

"Can we also add this feature?" "Can you change this page?" "Can you include this too?"

The original project brief may be clear, but client projects continue through messages, emails, PDFs, and revised documents. As more requests come in, it becomes difficult to know what was actually included in the original agreement.

This can lead to extra work, missed deadlines, and misunderstandings between teams and clients.

We built TuyDui to solve this problem by creating a clear, structured baseline for the project and comparing every new client request against it.

What it does

TuyDui is an AI-powered scope control workspace.

Teams can upload their original project brief and provide additional context. The AI analyzes the requirements and turns them into a structured Project Map, which becomes the project's baseline.

When a client sends a new request, the team can paste the request or upload a new PDF. TuyDui analyzes the change against the existing baseline and determines whether it is a modification to the existing scope or a significant new requirement.

For significant changes, TuyDui can alert the team and generate a response that can be sent directly to the client. Once the client approves the change, the team can update the Project Map and clearly identify what was added.

The Project Map can also be edited and shared with team members, while the Activity section provides a history of how the project has changed.

How we built it

We designed TuyDui around a simple workflow:

Client Brief → Baseline → Project Map → New Client Request → AI Analysis → Approval → Updated Project Map

The goal was to make scope management part of the team's normal workflow instead of forcing them to search through multiple documents and conversations whenever a new request arrives.

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was designing a workflow that could distinguish between a small change and a genuinely new requirement.

We also wanted to make AI useful without removing human control. That's why TuyDui allows teams to review and confirm the baseline and approve significant changes before they are added to the project.

What we learned

Through building TuyDui, we learned that AI can be more useful when it is integrated into a clear workflow rather than simply generating information.

The goal isn't to replace the team's decisions.

It is to give the team the context they need to make those decisions faster and more confidently.
