Inspiration

“One small request” can turn into hours of unpaid work, missed deadlines, and difficult conversations with clients.

For freelancers, agencies, and project managers, the agreed scope of a project often lives across PDFs, messages, emails, and revised documents. When new requests arrive, it becomes difficult to answer one critical question: Was this included in the original agreement, or is it new work?

We built TuyDui to make that question easier to answer before scope creep becomes a costly problem.

What It Does

TuyDui is an AI-powered scope management workspace that helps teams understand, track, and review project requirements.

  • Turn briefs into structure: Upload a project PDF or provide text to organize requirements into a structured project map.
  • Keep requirements traceable: Preserve links to the original source context so users can verify what the brief actually says.
  • Compare new requests: Evaluate incoming client requests against an approved project baseline to identify requirements that are in scope, modified, new, or unclear.
  • Support client communication: Draft explanations for requests that may fall outside the agreed scope, while leaving final decisions to the project manager.
  • Manage multiple projects: Organize project work in one workspace, with authentication and a more reliable deployment setup.

How We Built It

TuyDui is built with Next.js, TypeScript, and Supabase.

The product brings document-based requirements and changing client requests into a structured workflow. Its central idea is to make scope changes easier to inspect and discuss rather than letting important decisions disappear across disconnected conversations.

We designed the workflow around human oversight: AI assists with analysis, but project managers remain responsible for reviewing requirements and confirming scope decisions. TuyDui does not need to make business commitments on a user's behalf to be useful.

Challenges We Faced

A key challenge was making project requirements understandable and traceable when the original information comes from unstructured documents. Comparing new requests against an agreed baseline also requires clear results that people can review instead of blindly trusting an AI-generated answer.

We continued developing TuyDui beyond its initial implementation. Our GitHub history records work on multi-project support, authentication, rate limiting, deployment reliability, and a redesigned interface. These improvements helped move the project toward a more practical application rather than a single-screen concept.

Business Impact

Scope creep can quietly reduce project profitability, strain client relationships, and make delivery less predictable.

TuyDui aims to help teams identify potential changes earlier, review them with better context, and communicate more clearly before agreeing to additional work. Its value is not simply generating AI output; it is helping people make better-informed decisions about commitments, time, and client expectations.

Our goal is simple:

Control scope before scope creep controls the project.
