Inspiration

Desire to reduce device clutter and provide quick, hands-free access to schedule and wellness nudges.

What it does

Provides hotword-triggered Q&A (schedule and reminders), health nudges, and simple device control via Tuya mocks.

How we built it

• Node.js express mock server for API endpoints
• Client UI (HTML + browser TTS) to simulate hotword and responses
• Playwright script for reproducible demo recording

Challenges we ran into

• Tuning TTS timing to align with UI interactions
• Handling local/offline vs cloud fallbacks

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Reproducible demo scaffold with smoke tests and an automated recording script
• One-page Project_Intro.pdf and 90s storyboard

What's next for T5 Desk Assistant

• Integrate real hotword detection and device firmware
• Improve local caching for offline usage
