Inspiration

The inspiration for Tuux came from real daily experiences working in a small business in the city center, where I often observed unused space and thought about how it could be transformed into something more useful and accessible. A key moment of inspiration came from a conversation with a colleague from a previous job who worked in another full-time position while also selling shoes as a side business. One day, while I was in my pizza business with no sales activity, he explained a real problem he was facing: he had a customer ready to buy and a supplier in the city, but he could not leave his job to pick up the product, and he also could not send the customer directly to the supplier because the business relationship needed to remain private. At the same time, he had no one he could trust to handle the exchange during working hours. This made me realize how many entrepreneurs face the same challenge: they are building businesses while working other jobs, but they lack a reliable physical point where they can securely receive, store, or exchange products without interrupting their work. From this problem, the idea of Tuux was born.

What it does

Tuux is a decentralized network of verified local pickup and storage hubs that transform existing spaces into functional service points for entrepreneurs and communities. It allows users to store, receive, and exchange physical goods through nearby hubs, reducing the need for expensive warehouses or long-term rental contracts. The platform includes two main systems: Tuux Lockers for business logistics and storage, and Tuux EcoLockers for collecting and redistributing donated goods such as clothing and household items for social impact. Google Gemini enhances the system by classifying items, recommending optimal hub selection, and supporting operational and inventory decisions across the network.

How we built it

Tuux is being built as a platform-based system using a no-code/low-code approach with Base44 for the core application structure. The system is designed around role-based access for users, businesses, and administrators. Google Gemini is integrated as an AI intelligence layer that supports item classification, hub selection, and operational decision-making. The architecture focuses on creating a scalable network of physical points connected through a digital platform.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was designing a system that could operate with minimal cost while remaining scalable and realistic at the same time the cost of the time invested while doing this project and the ia (base44) payments . We also faced the challenge of defining a fair and sustainable pricing model for each hub and storage space, ensuring accessibility for users while maintaining viability for operators. Balancing affordability, functionality, and scalability was a key part of the design process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that Tuux has evolved from an initial idea into an early working prototype that is currently being structured for real-world implementation. The concept has already received positive feedback from potential users and stakeholders. Although there are no active customers yet at this stage, the system has been designed, tested conceptually, and prepared for pilot deployment, marking an important step from idea to execution.

What we learned

We learned that proper planning and early structure are essential for any scalable project. We also learned that launching and positioning a new platform without initial capital is challenging, but can be supported through smart system design and the use of artificial intelligence. Additionally, we understood that combining physical infrastructure with digital intelligence can create a strong competitive advantage and make replication more difficult for competitors once the system is established.

What's next for TUUX LOCKERS

The next step for Tuux is to expand into new physical pickup and storage points, starting with pilot locations and gradually scaling across the region. The long-term vision is to grow into a decentralized logistics and community infrastructure network across Central America, empowering entrepreneurs, improving access to storage and delivery services, and enabling structured social impact through Tuux EcoLockers. Our goal is to continue developing the platform into a sustainable and scalable system supported by artificial intelligence and real-world operations.
