Inspiration

Our inspiration for this website arises from our personal experience. There are many paid tutoring services, but more than often, they are very costly and feature working or college professionals. In this case, high school students do not have a chance to show their skills or provide teaching services. This platform addresses that concern as it allows students to display their skills and help other people. Moreover, this will help high school students to make money as well as improve their hard and soft skills. Furthermore, it lets people find cheaper tutoring services.

What it does

This website helps people to find high school students, who provide tutoring services. They can view each student’s profile, such as their name, age, gender, skills, availability, price, etc. as well as knowing their mode of tutoring, whether it's in person or virtual. Moreover, this website helps high school students receive community service hours, if they are not charging for their tutoring services.

How we built it

We built it using HTML and CSS.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a few challenges while creating this website. Since some of the members of our original team had left, we had to quickly get a new team together. We had different ideas as to how the website should be designed, so we had to communicate effectively and figure out something that we all liked. We also had to cope with time zone differences. Additionally, one of the team member’s code had technical issues with GitHub, where their code got deleted. Due to this, they had to re-do their part again.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to make a fully functional website, within the given time frame. We are proud that we were able to work together as a team to accomplish this goal together. Above all, we were able to make something that will help the student community and we had a lot of fun doing it.

What we learned

We learned how to work together as a team, despite some of the setbacks we faced. We also learned how to manage our time wisely as well as effective communication.
