We wanted to create an app that allows the user to explore their current hobbies but also discover new ones. We want users to be able to connect with those with similar interests by bonding in channel servers under popular creators.

We were inspired by many existing social media apps but especially Pinterest, since a lot of people go to that app for any craft or outfit inspiration. We thought about making an app similar to that, but for hobbies in general. We centered our app around the user making notes about each tutorial/post they watch and saving to collections with slightly more intention. We wanted our user to actually follow through with things they wanted to try out, so we also gave them an option to add a to-do list within each one of their collections so they could actually set goals for their next project.

Additionally, we added a community feature similar to Reddit/GroupMe/Instagram channels. This would give the user to get inspiration from others who have similar interests. The idea of having the channels based off of popular tutorial creators came from Instagram channels, because instead of making a general channel for a certain hobby, the community channels are based off of the combined interest in one creator, which is a more specific and personalized channel.

We learned to think creatively about unique features to add that would make the app an improved version of existing apps. It was difficult to figure out exactly how complicated we wanted our app to be because we wanted it to be useful enough to have multiple functionalities, but also not complicated or unintuitive. We also found animating the prototype pretty hard.
