Inspiration

The deaths of hundreds upon millions of marine animals every single year.

What it does

You are a sea turtle that tries to survive by eating jellyfish since you need sustenance. You don't want to eat plastic bags as they occupy space in your stomach and you have no room to consume more jellyfish, causing certain death.

Challenges we ran into

No internet, freezing room, and dealing with a new language(C#), new program(Unity), new project type(VR game).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Completing our very first virtual reality/unity game!

What we learned

How to use unity and C# to create a VR game.

What's next for Turtle, not turtle

Expand on the turtle's movement and environment. For example, we want the turtle to be able to swim when the user does swimming motions using the controllers. We also want the environment to be populated with various other sea creatures and pollutants. The environment will start off clean and beautiful and over time, become polluted and murky. The turtle will then have an opportunity to get caught in stray nets, sink and die, have its neck choke by plastic rings, or get slowly poisoned from oil spills.

A bonus feature we would also like to add is to let the turtle mate with other turtles. The game will then send messages to the user about the various ways the offspring dies and if one somehow managed to live.
