Turnip by SEEDS

Inspiration

We were inspired by the SEEDS nonprofit.

What it does

Turnip connects urban community gardeners and provides a space for information, connections, and communication. We provide a space for chatting with community gardeners to ask for help or find ideas, crowdfunding community gardening projects, and providing a marketspace for backyard growers and community-restaurant sales. In addition, we allow community members to monitor local community gardens to maintain security and see progress. Finally, we provide a database of information on what grows in each region, when to plant, companion plants, and other important information.

How we built it

We affinity mapped in Figma and built our prototype through Adobe XD and Procreate.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenges were the time crunch, which made us find the most important aspects of the project and work through those first.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are super proud of conducting user research and prototyping within the time crunch, as well as our fantastic art.

What we learned

We learned how to collaborate on an Adobe XD project and strengthened our User research, ideation, and UI/UX skills

What's next for Turnip

Next up is adding a recipe section, social media integration, usability testing, and development! :)
