Inspiration

We were inspired by the arcade classic Tempest and wanted to recreate its fast-paced, geometric chaos using modern tools, without relying on external assets or sprites.

What it does

Tunnel Drift is a browser-based, vector-style shooter where the player rotates around the rim of a 3D tunnel, blasting enemies as they surge toward the center. Each wave gets faster and more intense.

How we built it

We used Phaser 3 to build the game entirely with procedural graphics. Tunnel geometry, player movement, projectiles, and enemies are all rendered with Phaser’s Graphics system.

Challenges we ran into

I never could play the game in the arcade growing up, and as you'll see in the video, I still can't!

I'm thinking of making the ship more visible, making the aliens crawl more and adding more levels.
