Inspiration

Feeling sullen from lockdown? Wallowing away in your private playlists? We decided to create a web app that lets you discover new playlists based on your existing taste in music. We also connect you to people who share your taste in music based on a music compatibility score, so that you can meet new people despite the lockdown!

What it does

When you register on Tuneder, you will be required to include at least 3 of your favourite playlists when creating your account. After that, we try to figure out what kind of music you like, and on the discover page, you will be able to discover playlists created by other Tuneder members that are similar in taste to yours. If you like a playlist, you can swipe right to further tune your account's music taste, or swipe left if you don't. If we find a match based on music taste with another Tuneder member, we will connect you with them so you can chat!

We used React to build the front end and NodeJS/Express on the backend with firebase for auth/database

What's next for Tuneder

We would like to improve the way we currently connect Tuneder users, as well as our ability to detect your taste in music. We would also like to have a way to save the playlists you liked.
