Inspiration
I wanted to create a simple, effective website for a real space — Tulivu, which means peaceful in Swahili. It’s the kind of business that deserves a good digital presence but often lacks the budget or access to dev resources.
With Bolt.new, I was able to build and refine a clean, responsive site that tells the Tulivu story clearly. Cursor ai helped me polish code structure and layout. The result is a site ready to serve guests — no over-engineering, just elegant and useful.
What it does
Tulivu Ranch Cottage is a comprehensive luxury resort website featuring:
- Complete Resort Experience: 8-page SPA with accommodation showcase, experience booking, interactive galleries, and multi-step booking system
- Advanced Technical Features: Client-side routing, lazy loading, form validation, TypeScript safety, and performance optimizations
- Real Business Application: Complete business solution ready for payment integration and real-world deployment
How we built it
Built 70-80% in Bolt.new, 20-30% on Cursor AI (mostly images and final touches) following hackathon requirements:
- Architecture Planning - Started with comprehensive website structure planning
- Component-First Development - Built 50+ reusable components following atomic design
- Progressive Enhancement - Implemented features incrementally with continuous testing from One-Shot Prompt
- Advanced Systems - Multi-step booking forms, image galleries, routing, and animations
- Performance Optimization - Code splitting, lazy loading, and memory management
- Quality Assurance - Responsive testing and accessibility considerations
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Deployed a real website for a real place using AI + dev tools
- Created a clean guest experience across all devices
- Used prompt-driven structure to build ~80% of the layout in Bolt
- Combined tools (Bolt + Cursor) for smart build workflow
What we learned
- Clear, photo-led design works well when supported by a simple flow
- AI tools can accelerate development but still require creative planning
- A solid design system (spacing, fonts, colors) goes a long way
- Less is more — especially for hospitality businesses just starting out
