💡 Inspiration
We noticed that millions of dollars in charitable donations are lost annually due to high operational costs and poor donor retention. Donors stop giving because they don't see the impact, and NGOs struggle to afford professional marketing. We wanted to build a "Digital Brain" that solves both problems.
🤖 What it does
"The Smart Facilitator" is an all-in-one AI ecosystem for non-profits:
- Growth Engine: Uses Generative AI to automatically create zero-cost, cartoon-style marketing campaigns to attract new donors.
- Efficiency Engine: A machine learning algorithm that scores beneficiaries based on need (income, health, dependents) to ensure fair and instant aid distribution.
- Retention Loop: Automatically sends donors a personalized "Impact Story" after their donation reaches the beneficiary.
⚙️ How we built it
- Backend: Python & Flask.
- AI Models: OpenAI API for generating marketing content and stories. Scikit-learn for the eligibility scoring algorithm.
- Frontend: Flutter for a cross-platform mobile app.
- Database: Firebase for real-time data management.
🚧 Challenges we ran into
Defining the "Eligibility Score" mathematically was difficult. We had to balance between strict financial data and humanitarian factors. Also, integrating Generative AI to produce consistent cartoon styles required fine-tuning prompts.
🏅 Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building a fully automated loop where a donation can be processed, distributed, and reported back to the donor without human intervention.
🚀 What's next for The Smart Facilitator
We plan to integrate Blockchain to make every transaction 100% transparent and traceable by the public.
