AquaImpact — Turn Every Observation Into Impact
AquaImpact is a community-powered freshwater platform built for the IEEE OneAquaHealth Global Hackathon 2026 — Track 5: Community & Gamification.
Freshwater problems often go unnoticed because people don't have an easy, engaging way to participate. AquaImpact changes that by turning everyday environmental observations into meaningful community contributions.
How AquaImpact Works
Observe → Verify → Earn → Unlock → Contribute → Return
Users can:
Complete freshwater-focused missions Submit local water observations Add photo evidence to support contributions Earn Impact Credits for meaningful participation Contribute to community-wide challenges Build a personal Impact Passport Unlock meaningful rewards and certificates Track achievements, locations, streaks, and environmental contributions
What Makes It Different?
AquaImpact isn't designed around meaningless points or competitive leaderboards.
Impact Credits represent participation and contribution.
Every observation can become part of a larger community effort — helping people see how their individual actions contribute to freshwater awareness and citizen science.
