Inspiration

When we look 👀 at the modern world we see millions of people that cannot have guaranteed meaningful life changing experience, we see unseen destinations, hidden Gems 💎 with local business lacking of proper tourist attention, we see people that are tired by bus tours that are not flexible, they struggle to build itinerary by themselves cuz it takes months and consists of scrolling forums, chats, asking friends and many more, we see travel experts who cannot scale their businesses and vloggers who invest a lot of money in great content but cannot monetize it and have passive income to allow themselves even a bit of freedom

What it does

We made a solution that solves all of those problems via mobile app that provides variety of itineraries with destinations that give new life experience from passioned author and a built-in constructor that allows to create your own form of a diary, share it with your friends and even sell it through our platform receiving payments while you travel

How we built it

First we did web prototype that was just a responsive website but then we used react-native to turn it into proper mobile app that supports both of main mobile OSs - iOS and Android

Challenges we ran into

A lot , simply each step is full of challenges Starting from payment, system, marketing, inviting new authors, making lightweight user friendly UX that we have now, finishing with agressive App Store policies that doesn’t allow app to be published. But it’s ok, solvable, we’re moving to the gold standard of travel app that will be in each smartphone

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Fully operating mobile app on 2 platforms with more than 22 000 installs, and 72 itineraries sold

What we learned

A lot, that we need to work through and establish proper user acquisition channels especially now when we’re moving to global markets

That we need separate iOS, Android devs and UX experts on full time with a lot of previous experience in order to move fast enough and be able to test our hypothesis on prod including end users

What's next for tTravel

We’re finishing localisation Next will be ability to share your itinerary with everybody, More itineraries in db such as Bratislava and Venice, performance optimization, community features, subscription model, smart recommendations and many more
