tSiUmNe (SUN time) - Localized solar irradiation data.

SUN time takes solar irradiation data from NREL's NSRDB (National Solar Radiation Database) and combines it with local topography from USGS's NED (National Elevation Database) to provide a better estimate of local irradiation.

We're not using Google's elevation API for two main reasons: 1- It has a daily limit for queries, and 2- is not of high enough resolution for our purposes.

Our purpose is to provide a FREE service based on freely available data, with advertising to cover costs. This could be of significant importance for both the energy and agricultural sectors. Our main focus is currently Puerto Rico, where both these sectors are in need of a boost. Since (as you most probably know) plants are sun-powered and we are ultimately plant-powered, optimizing the use of solar power is a must.
