Inspiration
There was an idea ,to bring together all the coding resources in one place.
What it does
It provides direct links to important coding videos and websites with the option to add our own personal weblinks/video-links, in order to make learning easier especially for beginners(like me :) ).
How we built it
Challenges we ran into
Being the only member of the team as well as a beginner, there were quite some challenges. The process had been difficult as it was more of a learning + development process. I had no idea about fragments, tab layouts, etc. The idea was to learn and implement SQLite and firebase too and allow a networked user experience and a lot more features but, the stress and the time didn't allow room for them(as of now).
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Not being able to fulfill the initial aim, yet being able to at least deploy a workable project, I guess that's quite an accomplishment, especially being a beginner who has never made an app from my own personal idea.
What we learned
Apart from technical knowledge like working with fragments, creating tab layouts, using intents and URI ,make an extra class for certain tasks, a bit of SQLite(even though couldn't implement it), I also learnt how to manage on your own while also getting educated about what are the reasons we need a team and how could I have distributed the tasks among a team. (Learnt more about team work by working alone than by working with a team :) ). Also, learnt how important it is to breakdown a goal, and aim according to time and capabilites(while also challenging it to do more in less time as well).
What's next for TryNCatch
Although not all features could have been added in the app, the aim is to make TryNCatch the most convenient personal app that not doesn't flood one with information but rather is constraint to user's need. The plan is to extend it beyond just redirecting to websites or videos and to bring them as much as possible into the app. The future features goal is to include notes, pdf maker and more features to make homework and education easier. The user's network, room for discussions, etc are also in the wishlist.
