Inspiration
Online shopping is easy, but not knowing how clothes will look on you? Not so much. We built TRYAM to bridge that gap — giving users the power to see outfits on themselves instantly and virtually using AI.
What it does
TRYAM lets users upload a photo of themselves and any clothing image to see a realistic AI-generated preview — right in the browser. It’s fast, mobile-friendly, and feels like your own virtual dressing room.
Key features:
- Upload your photo + garment image
- Real-time AI outfit overlay
- Clean, modern UI with preview results
- Mobile-optimized performance
How we built it
- Frontend: React + Next.js
- Styling: Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion
- AI Engine: Replicate API / Custom ML model
- Image Handling: Supabase storage
- Fallbacks: Mock previews shown if API fails
Challenges we ran into
- Aligning outfits across different body shapes
- Reducing background noise in user uploads
- Achieving smooth results under API limits
- Designing a fast, simple user experience
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Delivered a fully working try-on demo
- Designed a sleek, intuitive interface
- Maintained strong performance across devices
- Simulated real-life outfit previews with minimal inputs
What we learned
- How to blend AI, UX, and visual media into one product
- That fallback systems are essential for user trust
- Real-time AI can be fast, stylish, and useful
What's next for TRYAM
- Add 360° outfit rotation & batch previews
