Inspiration
When Bolt’s dev team and Lovable’s creative crew both became “free for 48 hours”, we realised we could turn that tiny window into a full-blown US-market launch pad for Unica Laundry Systems. Industrial laundries in North America rarely see washer-extractor specialists with >100 kg capacity; we wanted a site that instantly proves Unica’s premium edge over Milnor, Braun, Kannegiesser, Lapauw & Jensen while meeting modern ADA and Core Web Vitals standards.
What it does
The site is a video-first, mobile-fast B2B platform that:
- Showcases dynamic 3D models of Unica machines (spin-to-view, exploded layers)
- Surfaces USP-blocks — short, data-driven proofs of lower TCO and superior hygiene
- Houses an embeddable ROI-calculator (water, energy, CO₂, $) for US utilities
- Delivers lightning-fast LCP (< 2.2 s) and passes WCAG 2.2 AA out-of-the-box
- Feeds sales via HubSpot forms, GA4 events and Hotjar funnels
How we built it
- Tech stack — Next.js 14 (+ MDX), Tailwind CSS via design-tokens, Strapi Lite CMS, Vercel CI/CD
- Creative pipeline — Figma → token JSON → tailwind.config.js; dynamic Lottie logos (“Spin-drum”, “Fabric-fold”)
- 3D assets — 60 overlapping DSLR shots per model → RealityCapture CLI → GLB → Three.js viewer
- Collab model — Event-driven Kanban (GitHub Projects); every merge triggers Lighthouse + Axe scans, Chromatic visual diffs and Slack webhooks
- 24 h to MVP; 48 h to polished staging site with 3 hero videos and 8 key pages
Challenges we ran into
- Time-boxed photogrammetry — aligning & meshing 5.8 t machines overnight
- Brand-vs-performance trade-offs — heavy hero video vs sub-2 s LCP
- ADA & SEO parity — keeping ARIA, alt-text and schema intact while iterating at warp speed
- Copy localisation — translating EU-centric claims into crisp US phrasing without legal over-promise
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- 95+/100 Lighthouse on both desktop & mobile
- Zero Axe blockers (WCAG 2.2 AA pass)
- Fully tokenised Unica Style Guide 2.0 (website, PPT, HMI)
- 3 interactive GLB models generated from raw factory photos — no external 3D team
- Internal competitive heat-map deck that fed live copy tweaks within the sprint
What we learned
- Event-driven > hourly stand-ups — letting CI/CD be the heartbeat kept focus razor-sharp
- Design tokens save hours when jumping from Figma to code
- Photogrammetry is viable in < 48 h if you shoot with overlap discipline (~20°)
- Parallel AI agents (Bolt & Lovable) can iterate faster than traditional dev-design hand-offs
What's next for the project
- Roll out Spanish-language variant for US Hispanic laundries
- Plug in live utility-rate API to make the ROI calculator hyper-local
- Add case-study microsites (healthcare, hospitality, OPL)
- Replace GLB previews with full WebGPU impostors for even smoother spins
- Long-term: integrate predictive-maintenance data dashboards (IIoT) for existing US customers
