Inspiration
According to BodyBlock AI’s survey, half of 1200 online shoppers expect to return online orders, 72% had returned online items because they didn’t fit, and up to 45% would not return to a brand if the clothing does not fit. We got further into researches and have huge amounts of examples to set on this specific situation. People are confronting various issues with online shopping because of transportation cost, delivery issues and most importantly not satisfying the demands and standards physically contrasting with the online displayed catalogs. These are inspirations which drive us into this astounding thought.
What it does
Utilizing AR will make things simpler making a virtual fitting space for customers for the above proposed problem. We are on the way to make the clothing platforms more and more appealing to customer giving them the opportunity to try different clothes from different angles. By standing before the camera, customers will have the option to perceive how apparel things looked on their bodies without physically giving anything a shot. They can save their shipping cost as well since a lot of times customers return back their products due to not being up to the standard or their demand.
How we built it
This project has been implemented using a series of scripting languages and software for designing the site. PhP has been used for the backend design, MySql for the creating and implementing the database, BootStrap for the page styles. Unity has been used for creating the 3D objects considering the cloth design and features of the shop.
Challenges we ran into
There are multiple challenges we confronted while working on this project. One of the prominent challenges was to make the Business Model Canvas. It took a lot of our time to find out the business target and all the necessary information associated with it. Researching and taking a shot on the market analysis also was bit challenging for us due to not having a very strong business knowledge. But we worked really hard to overcome all the challenges and making it laudable.
What we learned
Coming out of an idea and making roads towards its implementation itself is a great experience to learn and cherish forever. The whole group went through a lot of investigation, research, group discussions and series of diligent work. Both technical and business knowledge have been gained all through the process. Market analysis, profits accomplishment, market needs are the key business learnings whereas a whole research on Augmented Reality and its implementation was the technical side of the learning. Last but not the least, working on a group increased the progress of the work and helped to gain more and more experience towards it.
What's next for Try it on
As of now, Try IT On is working just on the clothing sector. Within a short period of time, it will flourish the business and expand its territories in few other sectors including all kinds of accessories. More and more features will be introduced, and updates will be done considering users’ feedback and reviews.
