Inspiration
Social media today spreads misinformation faster than truth. Duplicate posts, fake news, edited images, and viral false claims create confusion and harm. We wanted to build a platform that keeps the familiar feel of Instagram/Twitter but eliminates misinformation using AI. Our goal was to create a safe, positive space where people can trust what they see.
What it does
TruthSphere is an AI-powered social media platform that detects fake posts and repeated information. The system blocks posts containing misinformation or content already posted by others. After three violations, the user is permanently banned. Users can add multiple images, edit captions after posting, delete their own posts anytime, follow others, and enjoy a safe, authentic feed. A built-in Feedback Form sends user feedback directly to the admin’s email.
How we built it
We built TruthSphere using an AI backend that compares every post with existing data to detect repeated or false content. The platform integrates a content-moderation engine, violation tracker, media upload system, editable posts module, user follow system, and secure email-based feedback module.
Challenges we ran into
Detecting repeated information—not just repeated text—was difficult. Training AI to differentiate between tribute posts and misinformation required careful tuning. Ensuring smooth post editing, multi-image uploads, and real-time blocking also posed technical challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created an AI system that can block repeated or harmful content instantly. We also built a safe social media experience with modern features like multi-image posts, caption editing, user following, and self-delete options—all while maintaining platform integrity.
What we learned
We learned how powerful AI can be in moderating content in real time. We also gained experience integrating user-friendly features with strict safety controls without affecting user freedom.
What's next for TruthSphere
Next, we plan to add AI-powered comment moderation, deepfake video detection, verified news partner integration, and community reporting tools. We also aim to launch a mobile app version and expand the AI model for multilingual support.
