Inspiration
Online scams aren’t just about money — they break trust, cause trauma, and leave people afraid to even open apps. When a friend of mine was mentally affected after being cheated by a fake gaming app, I realized we’re missing emotional + digital support systems. That’s where TrustO was born — to protect both your wallet and your well-being.
What it does
TrustO is an AI-powered platform that:
Detects fraudulent websites, apps, and transactions
Analyzes Terms & Conditions using GPT to flag shady clauses
Verifies SSL certificates for site authenticity
Generates a Trust Score using real-time APIs
Recommends mental health support (counselors/therapists) for scam victims
Allows users to report fraud and file complaints
It’s a one-stop trust center for people who’ve been hurt online — digitally or emotionally.
How we built it
Frontend: FlutterFlow
Designs: Figma (used as reference)
Hosting: Netlify (initial version)
APIs Used:
🧠 OpenAI GPT-4 API – for analyzing Terms & Conditions
🔐 SSL Labs API – for SSL verification
⚖️ Sift API – for fraud risk scoring and Trust Score
Extras: Animations, feedback screens, and emotional UI (in progress)
Challenges we ran into
FlutterFlow had a learning curve — especially integrating dynamic APIs
Mapping API data to front-end in a no-code/low-code tool
Making the UI clean yet emotionally impactful
Managing project scope — it’s tempting to add everything!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
First working version of TrustO live and testable ✅
Integrated 3 major APIs without prior backend knowledge 💪
Designed a system that cares about the user’s mental health, not just transactions
Got positive feedback from peers and mentors 🧠✨
What we learned
How to blend AI + APIs with user-friendly design
The power of simplicity — helping users without overwhelming them
How deeply people are affected by digital fraud (emotionally & financially)
Learned FlutterFlow, API calls, and practical UX design under pressure
What's next for TrustO
Add gamified education to teach users about online fraud
Include a Vault feature to store verified websites/apps
Collaborate with psychologists for better victim support
Add regional language support for wider reach
Launch beta in college campuses and mental health NGOs
Partner with cybercrime helplines and legal advisors
