Inspiration
Healthcare should be simple—yet millions of people face uncertainty when choosing a hospital. Finding reliable reviews, predicting wait times, and understanding treatment costs shouldn’t feel like a gamble. We were inspired by personal experiences and these real-world frustrations to create a healthcare discovery platform like TrustMED that allows users to search, rate, and review hospitals easily. If we can compare restaurants, hotels, and even rideshares in seconds, **why can’t we do the same for hospitals?
How We Built It
TrustMED was built using AI, Google APIs, Subbase, HTML, and CSS to create a seamless experience for users. First, we used Google APIs to retrieve hospital locations and relevant data. This information is processed using AI models that filter out fake reviews and rank hospitals based on patient satisfaction.
The front end was developed with HTML and CSS ensuring a user-friendly interface. The backend relies on Subbase for data storage, allowing users to access updated hospital wait times and availability. By combining these technologies, we created a platform that helps users make informed healthcare decisions quickly and efficiently.
Challenges We Faced
Building TrustMED came with several challenges, as we had to learn a lot from scratch. One of the biggest hurdles was deciding what technologies to use. We spent time researching different tools and platforms before finally settling on Google APIs and Subbase. Once we started building, the code broke many times, forcing us to restart the project twice before getting we got it to work properly. Debugging took a lot of time, and we had to troubleshoot errors at every stage. We also had to understand how Google APIs work to properly fetch hospital data. Learning how to use Subbase for data storage was another challenge, as we had to figure out how to store and retrieve information efficiently. Despite these setbacks, we kept pushing forward, refining our approach until everything worked smoothly.
