Inspiration

The inspiration for TrustFundr came from witnessing how traditional crowdfunding platforms often suffer from a lack of transparency, with many scams and unfulfilled promises. We wanted to build a platform where anyone could confidently support projects, knowing their funds were handled transparently and verifiably. By combining blockchain for trustless payments with conversational AI video agents, we aimed to humanize and modernize the crowdfunding experience.

What it does

TrustFundr empowers creators to launch fundraising campaigns with transparent, on-chain donation flows using the Algorand blockchain. At the same time, it allows campaign owners to connect with their supporters through engaging conversational AI video agents powered by Tavus. Donors can see exactly where their money goes, interact with a human-like AI spokesperson for each campaign, and even receive on-chain receipts to prove their donation is authentic and verifiable.

How we built it

We built TrustFundr primarily using Bolt.new, which allowed us to rapidly prototype and ship the platform with no-code tools. Here’s the tech stack and integrations we used:

Bolt.new: core app build (frontend + backend)

Algorand: to enable secure, trustless donation transactions

Tavus: for conversational video agents representing each campaign

ElevenLabs: to give voice to the video agents for a more personal feel

RevenueCat: for monetizing premium campaign features

Entri / IONOS: to allow campaign owners to brand their own custom domain

Netlify: to deploy the production version

We connected these tools with Bolt.new’s no-code integrations, and focused on crafting a smooth, emotionally resonant donor journey with an intuitive UI.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating the blockchain layer with the no-code flow was tricky, as Bolt.new required some creative workarounds to handle Algorand wallet connectivity.

Designing conversational video experiences that felt natural instead of robotic needed multiple iterations.

Ensuring that donation tracking remained user-friendly despite the complexity of on-chain verification.

Coordinating multiple third-party services (Tavus, ElevenLabs, Algorand, RevenueCat) was challenging to align in one unified flow.

What we learned

No-code platforms like Bolt.new are incredibly powerful for fast iteration, but you still need careful planning to connect advanced features like blockchain.

Conversational AI video agents can dramatically boost donor engagement if designed with empathy and authenticity.

Transparency and trust are the next big things in online fundraising, and blockchain enables that perfectly.

Collaboration between multiple APIs and no-code tools demands constant testing and documentation.
