Inspiration
We were inspired by the growing problem of scammers impersonating banks, businesses, government agencies, and even family members. Existing security systems can identify suspicious numbers, but they cannot reliably verify who is actually speaking.
What We Learned
We learned how cryptographic authentication can establish trust in digital identities and how AI can help identify social engineering tactics in conversations.
How We Built It
We built TrustCall, a real-time identity verification platform that combines cryptographic authentication with AI-powered scam detection. It aims to verify callers' claimed identities and identify suspicious conversational behavior.
Challenges We Faced
Our biggest challenges included designing secure identity verification, preventing credential replay attacks, integrating real-time communication, and balancing AI detection accuracy with user privacy.
