Our team, comprised of student with little programming background, wanted to try to create something that was out of our comfort zone. The methods we used to solve this problem were only those that we had only vaguely been taught through courses. Our intention was to apply these statistical techniques to a real world problem.

What it does

Our solution in an ML model, integrated into a quick and easy to use website, that classifies and characterizes patient health through analyzing bacteria count data from the gut-microbiome.

How we built it

To implement our solution, we used various python libraries. Our workflow can be divided into three streps: preprocessing, analyzing and prediction.

Challenges we ran into

Due to the small size of the dataset, our model currently has poor accuracy. In addition, we were not able to fully integrate the website and model due to time limitations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of the website building and coding skills we learning through this hackathon.
