Inspiration
Our current president has made history with his comments towards just about anything. Some people even take his words at face value! Our goal for this project was to expose the fallacies in his logic and reasoning.
What it does
Our game works on a very simple mechanic - The recognition of a fallacy - If the player gets one wrong then the persuasion bar will go down, get one right and the bar will go up. As the game starts you are faced with opponents that are along the lines of trumps political affiliation, but as the game progresses you get to fight the progressives! Dont let logic that makes actual sense get to you!*bold( You're Donald J. Trump after all!)
How we built it
We built our game using Gamemaker, Javascript, GML scripting, and Photoshop
Challenges we ran into
We originally did not intend to use Gamemaker, but instead just Javascript and P5. Doing the switch helped us accomplish more, but we did lose 3 hours of work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Finishing a game with art and music that actually made people laugh.
What we learned
Wow, are there a lot of logical fallacies! Also we learned about structuring a game and keeping human interaction an enjoyable experience.
What's next for Trump v. Alternative Fallacies
In the future, our goals would be to: 1)Expand upon the number of fallacies 2)Create a larger number of Reporters 3)Add full audio dialog 4)Create cutscenes before every battle 5)Incorporate powerups such as Sean Spicy Substitution 6)Incorporate debuffs such as Tiny Hand Syndrome 7)Create a larger overworld 8)Include Various real life clips 9)Improve animation to various sprite images 10)Add more tips 11)Create a system in which you could interrupt others 12)Incorporate AWL services, in order to enable user made content 13)Controller Support 14)Animated Backgrounds 15)Progress Saving
