Inspiration
Through studying lectures of Dr. Alok Kanojia from Healthy Gamer. I realized that the problem with ADHD people when it comes to reading is that they fundamentally gets bored. They enjoy a dynamic flow of information. They go down rabbit holes on Wikipedia as a hobby, so Why not bring the fun to them when it comes to their lecture notes.
What it does
TrueSight MindMap turn dense PDFs into interactive mind maps for better comprehension. Each page becomes a visual node, allowing users to highlight key ideas, expand concepts with AI, and build a structured thought network—making reading more engaging, focused, and intuitive.
How we built it
We built TrueSight MindMap using React.js, determination, and way too much Red Bull. Collaboration played a huge role, with constant discussions to refine the design and functionality. Our goal was to ensure that every element of the app aligned with how ADHD minds process information best.
Challenges we ran into
One of our biggest challenges was switching from a Python Flask backend to a React.js-based system, which required a complete shift in architecture. Additionally, convincing our teammates to prioritize design over quick functionality was a challenge, but ultimately, we all agreed that an intuitive user experience was non-negotiable.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We all worked 24 hours our of the 36 Hours provided and we had fun the entire time.
What we learned
We learned that perseverance is key, especially when facing technical challenges and setbacks. More than anything, we realized that trusting our teammates and staying focused on our shared vision made all the difference.
What's next for TrueSight Mindmap
In December, we officially incorporated the company, marking a huge milestone. Through this hackathon, we built a true MVP (Minimal Viable Product) that we are now ready to present to investors. Moving forward, we aim to refine the user experience, integrate more AI-powered features, and scale our impact to help even more ADHD individuals overcome reading challenges.
