True Song Recommender

Inspiration: My partner and I both love Broadway music, so we wanted to create a program to find similar songs with Broadway-style.

What it does The maximum amplitudes of the songs are compared to each other to find similar structures.

How I built it Using Processing we were able to derive an image of the song's soundwaves by measuring the amplitudes.

Challenges I ran into Processing could not convert multiple songs at the same time. We had to find a way around the limitations. It took us three hours to graph, there was no reference on how to graph our data.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of The buttons to switch which song is currently being measured. Additionally, our hard work paid off in the final result.

What I learned How java is used outside the classroom, with no pre-written instructions or guides to follow. Only using our knowledge of the language to design our project.

What's next for True Song Recommender Being able to use a web search with it, so the user doesn't have to download mp3s.
