Inspiration - Nonprofit Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) educates truck drivers, bus drivers, and other transportation drivers on how to detect human trafficking. Its mission is to educate, empower, and mobilize transportation drivers to combat human trafficking. The nonprofit aims to educate the transportation - specifically trucking - industries by providing training materials, completing research, collecting data, and more. They also support law enforcement and government agencies to in the facilitation of investigations in trafficking incidents.
What it does - Allows for truck drivers to submit to a potential trafficking incident report to the National Human Trafficking Hotline via a secure and private application. This application allows for the truck drivers to be secure and safe while reporting an incident, with the fear of retaliation or being caught. The app houses a panic button that connect the user to the 911 hotline that provides immediate emergency help without having to be heard. This app is accessible offline and using a mapping/tracking system that collects data that is being entered and facilitated to the gov trafficking agency. This app also incorporates conversational UI to help empathize with the user and help assist them locate information, and e-learning opportunities. This will help relieve the load, since the trafficking hotline doesn't have the capacity to answer general questions etc.
This application is a go-to guide and reporting system for users who have been trained by TAT.
