Inspiration
Maria starts her day at 7 AM. For the next 90 minutes, she sends text messages to 20 drivers, the same three questions. "Where are you? How many hours are left? Are you rested?" Then a broker calls with a Dallas load, and she picks a driver from memory. Often wrong.
The data Maria needs already exists. Trucker Path's app logs HOS. ELDs know every position. Receipts are uploaded. The information is there, just not in the same place, at the same time, when she needs it.
That gap is the whole product.
What it does
DKK's Dispatch System turns 40 minutes of dispatcher phone calls into a 2-minute ranked shortlist, with profit-per-mile on every load.
Smart Dispatch: Filter the fleet by truck fit and HOS feasibility, then rank by deadhead, margin, and home-time fit. Every score explains itself. Cost Intelligence: Real-time CPM and RPM at the moment of assignment, plus a drill-down dashboard that finds the corridor leaking $0.14/mi in three clicks.
Two decisions. One web app. The layer between the driver app and the dispatcher's spreadsheet.
Challenges we ran into
Data latency at the right moment beats data volume at the wrong one. The product isn't about collecting more; it's about surfacing what Trucker Path already has at the moment of decision. Explainability is a feature. Dispatchers don't trust scores they can't argue with. Every number in DKK decomposes. Rules and regulations must be followed. FMCSA rules are no joke.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
As a team, we come up with our own solutions to things we never thought were possible before in such a short time frame. Shipped Smart Dispatch + Cost Intelligence + voice briefings + live fleet map + GTM plan in 24 hours. Explainable scoring. Every ranked driver shows six named factors with numeric contributions. No black box.
What we learned
Teamwork and communication are key. It's more about the person who you are working with than the result it brings.
