What it does
We have embarked on two key theses that redefine efficiency in the field. The first thesis revolves around optimization based on minimum distances, where we meticulously analyze routes, taking into account the intricacies of city layouts and additional corrections for cities sharing the same route. This approach ensures that every kilometer traveled is maximally efficient, reducing both time and resource consumption. Our second thesis centers on the strategic utilization of data for carrying raw materials during a truck's return journey to the cement plant. By leveraging data-driven insights, we transform return trips from mere overheads into opportunities, enhancing asset utilization, minimizing waste, and bolstering the sustainability of our operations.
How we built it
In our pursuit of efficiency and sustainability in logistics, we began by crafting a weight graph based on distances and routes connecting cities. This fundamental step paved the way for our journey to optimize sourcing and maximize asset utilization, leaving no room for empty trips that burden both our resources and the environment. Our commitment to this cause extends beyond theory, as our diligent work is seamlessly integrated into a user-friendly desktop application. Through the intersection of data-driven insights and strategic sourcing, we aim to make every journey count.
Challenges we ran into
