Inspiration
Our inspiration came from the Syracuse University Sailing Team. One of our members was brainstorming ideas and realized how disorganized and non-user-friendly the system is for that team. Upon realizing this, we endeavored to create an easy-to-use application with web-portal authentication for students of SU. This application can be modified for any university or business.
What it does
This program is designed to be able to dynamically view and edit a roster for a club, or to account for equipment in use, dues paid, or any other choice of value.
How we built it
We built this program using Java, Google API, and Gradle over the course of 24 hours.
Challenges we ran into
Our group entered this hackathon with little knowledge of Google API, however in just 24 hours we managed to learn API sufficiently enough to make a program that interfaces with spreadsheets and the login portal.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Our team showed awesome ability in collaboration and communication throughout this event. Although we worked on separate machines, our ability to communicate ideas and work together towards a common goal was probably our greatest accomplishment.
What I learned
We learned all about Google API.
What's next for TROS
Although this event is over, we will continue to work on TROS to create a streamlined and seamless application. Unfortunately, some parts weren't completed such as the remove function and the modify function.
