Inspiration

Our team wanted to create a solution that addresses real-world challenges efficiently. We were inspired by the idea of making complex workflows simple and accessible for everyone, which led us to start building Tropicano.

What it does

Tropicano is a platform designed to streamline project management and collaboration. It allows teams to track progress in real-time, organize tasks dynamically, and keep all essential project details in one unified dashboard.

How we built it

We developed the core application using modern web technologies. For the frontend, we focused on building an intuitive, responsive user interface, while the backend ensures fast data processing and secure storage. We also integrated LaTeX support to allow seamless formatting for technical data.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was optimizing the real-time syncing mechanism to prevent lag when multiple users edit simultaneously. Additionally, implementing full Markdown and LaTeX support within a dynamic text editor required extra tuning to ensure performance stability.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are incredibly proud of successfully launching a functional prototype within our deadline. Creating a highly responsive user experience and ensuring seamless data flow between the frontend and backend are major milestones for our team.

What we learned

Throughout this project, we deepened our knowledge of real-time state management and collaborative text editing. We also learned how to prioritize essential features to deliver a reliable MVP (Minimum Viable Product) under time constraints.

What's next for Tropicano

We plan to introduce advanced analytics and customizable templates for project pages. We are also aiming to add automated notifications and integrations with other popular productivity tools to make Tropicano even more versatile.
