Inspiration

2020 – The time when we were bound to our homes right after our under-graduation, a sheer technological curiosity made me look into the astonishing number of smart devices just within a single home. An unwitting analysis of this insidious spread only brought me to the intimidating conclusion that our privacy, even in our very own homes, is no longer intact. But isn't that the only place on this whole blue planet where we feel safe and comfortable? This thought became an obsession that incepted TriZ.

What it does

At TriZ we are developing our own array of Smart devices that work in sufficient isolation from the internet. With a home voice assistant integrated with the devices, the user would be able to control their home with natural voice commands. Starting from turning the lights ON to booking a cab, the users could do most of the monotonous home tasks with the system.

How we built it

As a team of 4 young engineerings in different parts of India, we started to work remotely on building the prototype of our Smart-Home hub architecture which is our primary novelty. We leveraged most of the Start-up resources offered by corporates and the government.

In terms of building the technology. We designed a data diode based on Optical isolation for the HUB to enable one-way internet access. We designed all our PCBs on KiCAD, Device bodies on Autodesk Fusion 360. We also developed a fine-tuned GPT-2 voice assistant.

Challenges we ran into

Our initial idea was based on the LTE-M technology. It being an established one, we had to pivot our core technology after months of work. Also, starting up during the covid-19 lockdowns, made us work with scarce resources. While it also thought us the art of frugality.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Selected as one of the top 13 handpicked startups in INDIA working towards data Privacy for the AIM-iLeap Program.

• Selected for Incubation under the Prestigious Atal Incubation Center - Anna University.

• Received a grant of 0.4 Million INR under the NIDHI EIR Scheme.

• Raised 2 Lakhs INR from Entrepreneurship Development Institute of INDIA through Innovation Voucher Program.

What we learned

One of the most important lessons we have learned throughout our journey is getting to the customers early on.

What's next for TriZ AI

We are focusing on the launch and development of our version-1 Smart-Speaker and our Day Planner application. We are expecting to leap into the market with this lunch by August 2023.
