Inspiration

My inspiration was Firebase, AI and RevenueCat SDK. I wanted to make a mobile app that would leverage all these technologies but within a 2 week time frame. I thought the best game for that would be a Trivia Game.

What it does

Trivia Gauntlet is an app that allows players to race against the clock to answer 10 Questions. Each successful Category completion allows you to progress through the Gauntlet.

How we built it

I used ChatGPT to source the questions and answers and also put them into the json format of my choice. I then uploaded the questions into Firebase and used Unity to display them to the Player. I also used RevenueCat to allow players to purchase additional lives or powerups for their account. Lastly I added Google Authentication so players can login and play through their google accounts.

Challenges we ran into

I could not test in app purchases prior to submitting to production. I wish there was a way to do this without using Closed Track Testing pipeline. Therefore I had to wait until my app was released due to time constraints to actually confirm that portion of the app was working correctly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am happy to have completed my first Google Play App! I always wanted to release my own mobile app and thanks to this hackathon I was able to do it!

What we learned

I learned when working with in app purchasing aim to release at least 2 weeks prior to your deadline so you can test properly. The sooner you release the better.

What's next for Trivia Gauntlet

The goal would be to fix any shortlisted bugs or issues I encounter. Also possibly add some more features or UI tweaks.
