TRIUMPH OF SLOP

"TRIUMPH OF SLOP" finds its inspiration in the bizarre, frantic energy of the "AI video gold rush" and the absurd conflicts this new world creates for artists. We were fascinated by the emerging class of AI "gurus," perfectly embodied by the character Travis Pucco. The project is a satirical snapshot of a creator's desperation to "go viral" and break in to a world that will pay him for his AI videos.

This project is a meta-satire; it was built using the very AI tools it lampoons. We used generative AI to create the visuals for the "gold rush," to bring the protagonist's "Hamlet Hamster" to life, and to fully generate the 'guru' character Travis Pucco himself using VEO and Whisk. The film's aesthetic intentionally rides the line between "art" and "slop," using the uncanny, synthetic look of AI video as a deliberate comedic and narrative tool. This AI-generated content was then edited in a traditional filmmaking pipeline to sharpen the timing, score the film's satirical musical numbers, and build a cohesive satirical story.

We're proud of successfully capturing the specific absurdity of this cultural moment. Through this process, we learned that the most potent satire isn't just about the technology, but about the very human (and very funny) ways we commercialize it.
